Job summary

PEXA Group is expanding its UK presence and seeks a hands‑on Lead AWS Platform Engineer for the PEXA Go team. You will shape strategy, own the platform, and enable reliable, secure infrastructure across AWS services such as EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3 and IAM.

You’ll design and deploy infrastructure as code with Terraform, run upgrades, improve automation, and work closely with product and operations teams. The role is hybrid with remote options and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience building and operating production platforms in AWS.
• Delivery from design through to implementation with complex engineering work.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, RDS, Aurora, S3, IAM).
• Terraform expertise including modules, testing and state management.
• CI/CD and secure deployment practices, high availability and DR concepts.
• Monitoring, logging, tracing and actionable alerting experience.
• Cloud security, vulnerability management, and cost optimisation awareness.

Responsibilities

• Turn platform strategy and standards into practical plans and working solutions.
• Design, build and improve AWS services that support PEXA Go.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and deployment pipelines.
• Plan platform upgrades and lifecycle work; deliver technical improvements.
• Improve reliability, security, observability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on safe deployments and incident response.
• Share technical direction through reviews and collaboration; keep docs up to date.
• Participate in the paid on‑call rota.
