Job summary

North West Trucks is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead its Warrington workshop. The role involves managing a busy team of technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient scheduling and adherence to service standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive or commercial vehicle workshop operations, proven leadership, and a hands-on approach to maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a workshop or service department in automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
• Proven track record of improving workshop performance and hitting targets.
• Strong technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the workshop, ensuring efficient scheduling and utilisation of technicians.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of technicians, apprentices and workshop staff.
• Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency and performance against targets.
• Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets manufacturer and company standards.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and workshop best practices.
• Collaborate with Service Department to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Monitor work in progress and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Oversee quality control and resolve technical issues as needed.
• Support recruitment, training and performance management of workshop staff.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance workshop performance and customer satisfaction.
