Job summary

Zego is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to shape data models and governance across the business. You will own robust data designs, promote AI-assisted tooling, and raise quality through code reviews and mentoring.

You’ll partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable, trusted data solutions. You’ll work with dbt, Snowflake, and Looker on modern data platforms, enabling self-service analytics and strong data quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role.
• Expert SQL skills, fluent, with debugging and scrutiny of AI-generated code.
• Proven experience designing and owning data models for warehousing and BI, including dimensional modelling and defining grain.
• Hands-on with dbt and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Looker, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with version control tools like Git and good engineering practices.
• Exposure to Python for data tasks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-scoped requirements.
• Own design of robust, scalable data models and exposures in dbt, Snowflake, and Looker.
• Document architectural decisions and trade-offs shaping the data platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to move faster while maintaining intent and quality.
• Review SQL (including AI-generated code) to ensure trustworthy models.
• Wrangle and integrate data from multiple sources (Amplitude, Segment, Google Ads).
• Define and champion trust infrastructure: tests, data contracts, observability.
• Enable and mentor teammates through code review and pairing.
