Job summary

Zego is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join our data engineering function and help build and maintain the data platform that powers our growth. You’ll work across Engineering, Data Science, Analytics and Product to ensure scalable, reliable data infrastructure.

This role embraces AI-enabled workflows and proactive learning. You’ll join a team that values pragmatic problem-solving and ownership, with a hybrid work model in London, and opportunities to influence data tooling and architecture

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Data Engineer in data platforms or high-growth environments.
• Experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines with modern data stacks.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and take ownership with an AI-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and related systems.
• Follow and uphold best practices in data engineering, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code.
• Take part in code reviews and team knowledge sharing.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, warehouses, and streaming systems within our architecture.
• Ensure data is modeled and structured to meet analytics, data science, and operational use cases.
• Contribute to improvements in data systems and tooling.
• Work with teams across the business to understand requirements and turn them into reliable technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and tool improvements.
• Deliver against the technical roadmap for data engineering.
