Job summary

Zego, in the United Kingdom, seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer to shape how data is modeled and exposed across the business. You will define robust data models, set team patterns, and advance AI-assisted tooling while mentoring peers and driving trustworthy, scalable analytics.

You’ll partner with stakeholders to translate needs into well-scoped data solutions, own data quality, and enable self-service BI. A strong SQL base and hands-on experience with dbt and cloud platforms are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role.
• Expert SQL skills: fluent, fast debugging, and critical review including AI-generated code.
• Proven experience designing and owning data models for warehousing and BI, with dimensional modelling and clear grain definition.
• Hands-on with dbt and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Looker, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git and solid engineering practices around them.
• Exposure to Python for data tasks is a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving instincts.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of robust, scalable data models and exposures in dbt, Snowflake, and Looker.
• Define patterns and conventions the wider team reuses.
• Evaluate architectural decisions and trade-offs shaping the data platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to move faster while maintaining intent and quality.
• Review SQL (including AI-generated code) to ensure trusted models.
• Wrangle and integrate data from multiple sources (Amplitude, Segment, Google Ads).
• Champion trust infrastructure, data contracts, and observability standards.
