Job summary

British Airways is seeking licensed engineers to lead from the front in base maintenance, delivering aircraft safely to the terminal. The role emphasizes accountability, quality, and teamwork to protect BA's operation and customer experience at Heathrow.

You will manage resource and technical areas, guiding engineers and coordinating with Planning and Production while maintaining high safety standards and continuous improvement. This is a frontline, visible leadership position.

Qualifications

• Aircraft maintenance B licence holder with demonstrable experience of certifying in an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Ability to hold CAA C licence (Essential in Base Maintenance Environment).
• Valid full UK driving licence (or equivalent) desirable; Airport Restricted Zone access essential for Terminal role.
• Desirable to hold CRS on relevant Aircraft Types for the area.
• Good knowledge of safety and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to maintenance colleagues and deliver operation to defined production targets.
• Allocate tasks per maintenance plan and communicate status between Planning and Production.
• Provide technical support as a first point of contact for operational colleagues and stakeholders.
• Rectify defects with engineers and assess complex technical issues in real-time.
