Job summary

Centrica is seeking an AI Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of enterprise AI solutions, guiding a team of AI Engineers in design, deployment, and operation of scalable AI and LLM-powered applications.

Reporting to the Director of AI & Data Science, you will shape AI engineering capabilities, drive best-practice in software engineering and MLOps, and ensure secure, reliable production systems aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

Significant experience in AI Engineering, ML, or software development with production AI solutions.
Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
Hands-on design, build, and deployment of LLM-powered solutions at enterprise scale.
Strong Python, ML frameworks, and cloud platform skills.
Understanding of MLOps, model lifecycle, deployment automation, and monitoring.
Ability to translate business requirements into practical AI solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to the AI engineering team with strong software engineering, MLOps, and Responsible AI standards.
Lead design, development, and deployment of AI applications including LLM-powered solutions with hands-on contribution.
Support data scientists with robust deployment, monitoring, and productionisation of AI solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into practical AI outcomes.
Ensure quality, security, reliability, and continuous improvement in delivery.
Mentor AI engineers and foster collaboration, learning, and growth.
Stay ahead of AI, MLOps, and engineering practices to keep the team at the forefront.
