Job summary

Centrica plc is hiring an AI Engineering Manager to lead the design, delivery and operation of enterprise‑grade AI solutions. You will guide a team of AI engineers, work with data scientists and product teams, and ensure secure, scalable AI products from development through production.

The role blends architecture, hands‑on engineering, and people development, reporting to the Director of AI & Data Science, with a focus on modern MLOps and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in AI Engineering, ML, or software development with production AI deployments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the AI engineering team with strong software engineering, MLOps, and responsible AI standards.
• Lead design, development and deployment of AI applications including large language model powered solutions; contribute hands-on to code and architecture.
• Support model deployment, monitoring, maintenance and productionisation of ML/AI solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical AI solutions.
• Ensure operational excellence with quality, security, reliability, and continuous improvement in delivery.
