Job summary

Synoptix is seeking a Senior or Principal Assurance Engineer to join the technology team. You will lead technically demanding client work, design assurance strategies, and connect assurance evidence to system design and operation in AI-enabled environments.

You should bring breadth across assurance backgrounds, including AI or machine-learning familiarity, and the ability to learn quickly while engaging credibly with specialists. UK security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety engineering and safety cases.
• Familiarity with assurance cases and argument-based assurance.
• Background in high-integrity or safety-critical software.
• Knowledge of AI verification, validation, testing or evaluation.
• Experience with system safety and hazard analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of assurance work for clients.
• Develop assurance strategies and plans.
• Structure claims, arguments and supporting evidence.
• Develop AI test and evaluation strategies.
• Define system requirements and design recommendations.
• Develop operational monitoring and change‑assurance approaches.
• Review and challenge evidence produced by clients or suppliers.
• Produce reports that support senior technical and operational decisions.
