Job summary

Synoptix is seeking a Senior or Principal Assurance Engineer to join the technology team. You will lead technically demanding client work on AI assurance, developing evidence and design recommendations for high-stakes systems.

You will engage with clients, guide project teams, and ensure assurance approaches are purposeful, not just governance, with exposure to AI or machine-learning systems and rapid learning of new technologies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in high-stakes systems
• Ability to structure claims and supporting evidence
• Experience with AI assurance or related topics is valuable

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of assurance work for clients
• Develop assurance strategies and plans
• Structure claims, arguments and supporting evidence
• Develop AI test and evaluation strategies
• Define system requirements and design recommendations
• Review and challenge evidence from clients or suppliers
• Produce reports for senior decision making
• Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
• Build partnerships with universities and research organisations
