Lead 3rd Engineer - RoRo Passenger Ferry Fleet

Job summary

Baleària is seeking an experienced 3rd Engineer to join our RoPax fleet aboard passenger ferries. Embarkation is required as soon as possible and mid October 2026, with a contract duration of 3 months ±1.

The ideal candidate holds STCW95, CoC A-III/1, and extensive on-board engine room experience, preferably with Wartsila engines, and can operate under safety and public health standards on international routes.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Valid CoC A-III/1.
• Appropriate certification as required.
• Extensive experience on passenger ships.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity required.
• Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training appreciated.
• Able to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Alaska experience is a plus.
• Coast Guard, Port State Control experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe engine room watch at sea, in port, and at anchor.
• Execute safe and efficient operation of Main and Auxiliary engines.
• Lead safe machinery operations and monitor control systems.
• Perform repair and maintenance work inside and outside the Engine Room.
• Coordinate with other technical parties and departments.
