Job summary

V.Group seeks a 3rd Engineer for Balearia RoRo Passenger Ferries to join the vessel fleet on a contract basis. Embarkation is ASAP with a mid-October 2026 start and a 3 months ±1 duration. The role requires STCW95, CoC A-III/1, and extensive shipboard experience, with preference for Wartsila engine exposure.

You will maintain engine room watch, operate engines, and oversee maintenance while coordinating with technical teams to ensure safety and compliance on board.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Valid CoC A-III/1.
• Extensive experience on passenger ships in a similar role.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe engine room watch while at sea, in port, or at anchor.
• Operate and maintain Main and Auxiliary Engines.
• Lead safe operations of machinery and monitor engine control systems.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs inside and outside the Engine Room.
• Ensure seaworthiness and stock of spare parts for planned and unplanned maintenance.
