Job summary

Progressive Care in Sheffield is seeking a Team Leader for Learning Disabilities Services to oversee care for young people aged 16–25. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, mentor staff, and ensure safety, wellbeing, and progress toward independence within a homely environment.

You will promote daily living skills, build strong relationships, and coordinate support across shifts. A Level 3 Diploma is required, with further management training encouraged.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma or relevant qualification.
• Willingness to work towards a management qualification.
• Awareness of quality standards and CQC regulations.
• Leadership experience with mentoring and supporting less experienced staff.
• Strong communication and empathy.
• Calm under pressure and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care of young people aged 16–25, ensuring a homely environment.
• Meet each individual's physical, emotional, social, and educational needs.
• Build positive relationships and support development while ensuring safety.
• Promote independence by supporting daily tasks and life skills.
• Provide regular supervision to the staff team.
• Work within a team to advocate for individuals' needs.
• Mentor and develop less experienced staff to enhance skills.
• Provide support and development for all workers.
• Be flexible to work across different shifts including waking nights and sleep-ins where applicable.
