Job summary

Swanton, Kent-based Light Commercial Vehicle Technician position offering a strong basic salary and stable daytime hours. The role sits within a long-standing commercial vehicle business with a fleet of around 600 vehicles, primarily 3.5-tonne panel vans, on long-term contracts in the utility sector.

The successful candidate will service, maintain and repair LCVs, with focus on Ford Transit experience being advantageous.

• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and Health & Safety.
• Supporting the wider workshop team where required.

Choice of 06:00-16:00 or 07:00-17:00

Every other Saturday: 07:00-12:00

Are you an experienced LCV Technician looking for a strong basic salary, consistent daytime hours and long-term job security?

An excellent opportunity has become available to join a well-established commercial vehicle business in the Tonbridge & Malling area.

The company operates a large fleet of around 600 commercial vehicles, predominantly 3.5-tonne panel vans, supplying vehicles on long-term contracts within the utility sector.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking to add another experienced Light Commercial Vehicle Technician to their workshop team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on LCVs and commercial vehicles
• Working predominantly on 3.5-tonne panel vans
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Identifying and replacing worn or defective components
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections
• Completing workshop documentation accurately
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and Health & Safety
• Supporting the wider workshop team where required

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of approximately five years' experience working on commercial vehicles
• Previous experience as an LCV Technician, Van Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong servicing, maintenance and repair skills
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
• A full UK driving licence
• Your own tools
• Reliable transport to and from the workshop

Experience working on Ford Transit vehicles would be particularly advantageous, although it is not essential.

HOURS

• Monday to Friday, with a choice of: 06:00-16:00 or 07:00-17:00
• Every other Saturday: 07:00-12:00

PAY AND BENEFITS

• £50,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience
