Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced LCV Technician for a Newcastle role with a leading vehicle rental company. The role covers servicing and maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair, and potential MOT testing where qualified.

The position offers a Monday–Friday dayshift (8am–5pm), no weekends, a £36,730 basic salary with a £1,500 sign-on, and overtime pay up to £20.77 per hour; there are clear progression opportunities through a structured 5-stage training path to Master Technician level.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum Level 3 qualification (NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair.
• MOT testing duties if qualified.

LCV Technician Role:

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)

LCV Technician Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of NVQ, IMI, City and Guilds or Mechanical Engineering level 3 (or equivalent)
• Must have proof of certificate as they will be requested & needed before starting
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
