Job summary

Prospect Hospice Watchfield seeks a passionate Retail Store Manager to launch and lead its new shop, shaping a welcoming space for customers, volunteers and supporters while generating vital income for compassionate care.

You will recruit and coach volunteers, manage stock and cash, lead sales and events, and build links with the local community. The role involves 37.5 hours/week, weekend work, and safeguarding DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Retail Manager, preferably in charity retail.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on customer experience.
• Ability to recruit, develop and motivate volunteers.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to support other shops.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the shop.
• Drive sales, profitability and Gift Aid income.
• Recruit, develop and support volunteers and your Assistant Store Manager.
• Create an attractive, well-merchandised shopping environment.
• Manage stock, cash handling and store compliance.
• Build strong relationships within the local community to encourage donations and support.
