Job summary

Mars is seeking a Laser Applications Engineer in Didcot for development of laser micromachining processes and production support. The role involves hands-on work with advanced laser systems spanning UV to IR and short pulse regimes.

The candidate should have a degree in lasers/optical engineering or physics with practical experience, knowledge of laser micromachining and related tooling, and strong IT/progamming skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or MSc in Lasers, Optical Engineering, Physics or Engineering with practical experience
• Practical laser applications experience is advantageous
• Knowledge of laser micromachining, optics and metrology is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers and run production work
• Work with state-of-the-art laser systems across UV to IR wavelengths and femtosecond/picosecond/nanosecond pulses
