Job summary

Mars is recruiting a Laser Applications Engineer for its Didcot facility. The role involves developing laser micromachining processes for customers and running production work in a state-of-the-art lab.

You will operate and optimize laser systems spanning UV to IR, with femtosecond to nanosecond pulse durations, and contribute to project delivery. The successful candidate will have a degree in lasers/optical engineering/physics or related fields, solid IT and software skills, and hands-on

Qualifications

• Degree in Lasers/Optical Engineering/Physics/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on laser micromachining experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of laser systems, metrology, and optical components helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop laser micromachining processes for customers.
• Run production work in the laboratory and maintain laser systems.
• Collaborate with a high-performing Lab team on projects and optimization.
