Job summary

Lead Careers is recruiting a Landscape Architect for a Cheshire-based multidisciplinary consultancy. The role involves working on LVIA-focused landscapes across renewables, infrastructure and development schemes, contributing from early assessment through planning.

You will join a team of environmental and planning specialists, develop LVIA reports, undertake site surveys, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality reports.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of LVIA methodology and landscape/visual assessment
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Full UK driving licence due to site-based work
  • Experience with planning processes is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and contribute to LVIAs, and landscape planning reports
  • Conduct site surveys and landscape assessments
  • Assess landscape and visual effects and propose mitigations
  • Provide landscape and visual advice through the planning process
  • Collaborate with planning, environmental and technical teams
  • Liaise with clients and project teams
  • Support delivery and quality of reports at senior levels
  • Mentor less experienced team members

Job description

Role - Landscape Architect

Location - Cheshire

Salary - £DOE

An established multidisciplinary is looking to strengthen its Landscape Planning team with a Landscape Architect/Landscape Planner with an interest or background in LVIA.

The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects, with particular involvement in renewable energy, infrastructure and development schemes. Working alongside other environmental and planning professionals, the role will provide exposure to projects from early-stage assessment and feasibility through the planning process.

The Role
  • Preparing and contributing to LVIAs, LVIAs as part of EIA, landscape appraisals and supporting landscape planning reports
  • Undertaking site surveys, landscape assessments and fieldwork
  • Assessing landscape and visual effects and helping identify appropriate mitigation
  • Providing landscape and visual advice throughout the planning and development process
  • Working closely with planning, environmental and other technical disciplines
  • Liaising with clients and project teams
  • Managing projects and taking responsibility for the delivery and quality of reports at more senior levels
  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the team where appropriate
About You
  • You should have a degree in Landscape Architecture
  • An interest or experience in landscape planning and LVIA
  • Have an understanding of LVIA methodology, landscape and visual assessment and the UK planning process
  • Strong written communication, analytical and report-writing skills are important, alongside the ability to work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
  • A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of site-based work
