Job summary

LEAD Careers is seeking a Landscape Architect/Landscape Planner to join a Cheshire-based multidisciplinary practice with a focus on LVIA and renewable energy projects. You will contribute to LVIA work, landscape assessments, and planning reports, collaborating with planners and environmental specialists from feasibility to planning submission.

The role involves site surveys, mitigation advice, report writing, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture required.
  • Interest or experience in LVIA and landscape planning.
  • Understanding LVIA methodology and UK planning process.
  • Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence required due to site-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and contribute to LVIA reports and landscape appraisals.

Job description

Role – Landscape Architect

Location – Cheshire

Salary - £DOE

An established multidisciplinary is looking to strengthen its Landscape Planning team with a Landscape Architect/Landscape Planner with an interest or background in LVIA.

The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects, with particular involvement in renewable energy, infrastructure and development schemes. Working alongside other environmental and planning professionals, the role will provide exposure to projects from early-stage assessment and feasibility through the planning process.

The Role
  • Preparing and contributing to LVIAs, LVIAs as part of EIA, landscape appraisals and supporting landscape planning reports
  • Undertaking site surveys, landscape assessments and fieldwork
  • Assessing landscape and visual effects and helping identify appropriate mitigation
  • Providing landscape and visual advice throughout the planning and development process
  • Working closely with planning, environmental and other technical disciplines
  • Liaising with clients and project teams
  • Managing projects and taking responsibility for the delivery and quality of reports at more senior levels
  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the team where appropriate
About You
  • You should have a degree in Landscape Architecture
  • An interest or experience in landscape planning and LVIA
  • Have an understanding of LVIA methodology, landscape and visual assessment and the UK planning process
  • Strong written communication, analytical and report-writing skills are important, alongside the ability to work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
  • A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of site-based work
