This is an exciting opportunity for you to be responsible for the expansion and management of our portfolio in East Sussex and Kent. You will be involved in the full asset lifecycle from initial site identification, negotiation, and acquisition of land/sites. You will lead a professional team through the planning process, obtain satisfactory consents, support construction, and ongoing asset management.
Developing relationships with key third parties such as landlords, tenants, local authorities, agents, and developers is crucial.
You will own the full development and planning processes from concept to completion, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

Please note: you will be expected to work in our Gravesend (Northfleet) Property Office or in your designated area at least 3 days per week.
Internally, this role is called Senior Acquisitions Consultant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Identifying, negotiating, and acquiring freehold and leasehold deals for new stores.
2. Undertaking site inspections, development appraisals, and managing due diligence on opportunities.
3. Managing the planning application lifecycle from submission to discharge of conditions.
4. Leading expansion, relocation, and infrastructure projects.
5. Developing and maintaining relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers.
6. Driving the full development and planning process from concept to completion.
7. Managing real estate assets.

Requirements

• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
• Degree-level education (minimum 2:2), preferably in a relevant field.
• Experience in retail acquisitions, land buying, commercial property, or town planning.
• MRICS qualification is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, legal, and commercial property knowledge.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel across the UK.
