Job summary

Gi Group are recruiting a Laminator/Machine Setter for a leading manufacturing company in Wednesbury. The role is permanent with an October start, offering training and development within a stable business.

You will operate and set up the Foil Laminator, perform start-ups and changeovers, prepare materials, monitor quality and collaborate with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams. This hands-on role requires attention to safety, reliability and the ability to work independently or as part

Qualifications

• Experience operating laminating machinery, Foil Laminator preferred.
• Background in manufacturing environments such as plastics or extrusion.
• Hands-on machine setting and process adjustment capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail with quality-first mindset.
• Reliable, proactive, able to work independently and in a team.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up the Foil Laminator to meet production requirements.
• Complete machine setting, start-ups, adjustments and changeovers.
• Prepare profiles and foils, ensuring materials are loaded and ready for the run.
• Monitor performance to maintain quality and maximise output.
• Carry out in-process checks for finish, adhesion and colour consistency.
• Troubleshoot minor faults and escalate technical issues when needed.
• Work safely; keep area clean, organised and audit-ready.
• Support cleaning and upkeep of laminating equipment.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Maintenance to hit targets.
• Experience around Extrusion / profile manufacturing is beneficial.
