Roberts Mart in Wales is seeking a dedicated Lamination Operator to operate and maintain a laminating machine within a busy print environment on a 12-hour shift pattern. You'll work 42 hours per week over a Days/Nights rota, with on-site duties, strict Health & Safety compliance, and a focus on quality and timely production to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in production environment is essential.
  • Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing, i.e., 5S preferred.
  • Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic about producing a quality finished product to customer specifications.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the capacity to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrate being able to work as part of a team and manage workload, operate machinery to allocated schedules without direction.
  • Be keen to learn new skills and demonstrate a flexible attitude.
  • High level of attention to detail, including numeracy skills.
  • Right first time approach preferred.
  • Preferred mechanical knowledge would be of benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Run one of the company’s lamination machines.
  • Operate all machines within the department.
  • Ensure the correct works ticket is used and documentation is completed.
  • Understand the Radius system and maintain clean, safe work areas.
  • Communicate faults to the Lamination Manager or Team Leader.
  • Follow site health, safety, quality, and environmental standards (BRC, ISO).
  • Plan workload to align with the daily print programme and customer requirements.
  • Support production operations and maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Ensure lamination aligns with production schedule and plan.
  • Check orders, process control, paperwork and preparation for laminations.

Working an average of 42 hours per week, covering 12 hour shifts – Days and Nights on a rota basis

Main Purpose of the role

Your main responsibilities are to operate the laminating machine confidently and proficiently, as part of the secondary print environment, whilst adhering to the strict Health & Safety regulations and upholding the companies’ quality standards.

You will ensure that all products produced are to customer specifications will meet with quality assurance testing to achieve your KPI’s.

You are expected to be a punctual individual who demonstrates a consistent level of attendance and upholds professional standards at all time.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for running one of the company’s lamination machines
  • Ability to operate all machines within the dept
  • Ensure the correct works ticket, is being used prior to Lamination. Ensure all documentation is correctly filled out and signed on works ticket on completion of required Lamination job.
  • Understands the use and need of Radius system.
  • Ensure working area is clean, tidy and obstruction free.
  • Communicate with Lamination Manager or Team Leader any de-faults
  • Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards including BRC, ISO & A2 environmental.
  • Organise your workload in line with the daily print programme, ensuring work is delivered against targets and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all established quality standards are met. Assist with production operations as and when required including the maintenance and upkeep of relevant equipment.
  • Ensure that Lamination is organised in line with the production schedule.
  • Check Orders, process control, paperwork and requirements in advance of the plan, to enable production operate effectively. Ensure the Team Leader is notified immediately of anything missing. Provide overtime cover as is necessary and reasonable.
  • Follow cleaning regime ensuring all documentation is completed.
  • To undertake reasonable requests as directed by the management from time to time.
