Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to join our Christchurch, Dorset team. You will inspect materials, parts and finished builds to customer specs and standards, using CMMs and vision systems to achieve high accuracy.

You will generate FAIRs and collaborate with customers and the supply chain to resolve issues. The role supports a hybrid working model with opportunities for development within a respected aerospace and defense supplier.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a quality role within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance and ISO 9001/AS9100.
  • Able to read and understand technical engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence and other inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out inspections of materials, parts and finished builds.
  • Performing routine inspections and checking for defects in accordance with procedures.
  • Using measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy (CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence).
  • Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) internally and externally.
  • Liaising with customers and the supply chain on issues and solving them.
  • Supporting workloads for production and engineering needs and investigations (MSA & SPC).

We are looking for a Senior Quality Inspector to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As a Senior Quality Inspector, working within a small quality team, you will be undertaking the quality inspection of manufactured goods ensuring they are built to customer specifications, industry standards and regulations.

Your Challenge
  • Carrying out inspections of materials, parts and finished build inspections.
  • Performing routine inspections and checking for defects in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
  • Using measuring equipment including CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence to measure to a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), internally and externally.
  • Liaising with customers and the supply chain on any issues and working to solve them.
  • Support and help manage workloads for production needs, engineering needs and various investigations including MSA & Statistical Analysis studies and complying of SPC data to improve supplier quality.
What You Bring
  • Experience in a quality role within an engineering / manufacturing industry.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance and ISO 9001 / AS9100.
  • Working knowledge of CMMs, Vici Vision, Keyence and other handheld inspection equipment.
  • Competent use of PC.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to read and understand technical engineering drawings.
