Job summary

G K & N Services in Holmfirth is seeking a reliable Labourer / Engineering Assistant to support our engineering and fabrication teams. This hands-on role offers practical learning and close teamwork in a busy workshop environment.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with hands-on tasks, be physically fit, and able to follow instructions. Full UK driving licence is required, and on-site training is provided to develop skills and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• Good work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of tools or mechanical work.
• Previous labouring or engineering experience is an advantage.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineers with day-to-day tasks and projects
• General labouring duties including lifting, loading, sorting and equipment checks
• Collections and deliveries in company vehicles
• Handling tools, materials, and equipment safely
• Basic assembly, maintenance, or fabrication work (training provided where needed)
• Keeping all work areas clean, tidy, and safe
• Following health & safety procedures at all times

About the Role

G K & N Services are a market leader in Road Tanker manufacture incorporating Vacuum and high-Pressure jetting systems. The company supply specialist vehicle building solutions & drainage equipment, parts and accessories to councils, water authorities and contractors nationwide.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Labourer / Engineering Assistant to support our engineering and fabrication teams. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, learning new skills, and being part of a close-knit team.
