Job summary

GAP Group Ltd. is seeking a proactive Labourer to join our Trenching & Shoring division in Tilbury. You’ll help keep the depot clean and safe, prepare hire equipment, and support the team in delivering excellent service across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

You’ll play a hands-on role with real career progression in a company investing in its people. Driving license and CSCS/forklift credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
• Driving licence required and a CSCS card and/or forklift licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Clean equipment and store it in an orderly fashion.
• Quality-check equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment to/from customer sites safely and professionally.

As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

This is a hands-on role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately
