Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a proactive Labourer to support our Non-Mechanical Division across our depot operations in the UK. You will keep the workshop and yard clean, prepare equipment for hire, and assist Drivers and customers with loading and unloading.

Responsibilities

• Keep workshop and yard clean, tidy, hazard-free.
• Clean equipment and store in an orderly fashion.
• Quality-check equipment before hire to ensure readiness.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Carry out driving duties (licence required) and assist loading/unloading.
• Operate forklift when necessary.

We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Non-Mechanical Division. As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare Non-Mechanical equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

This is a hands-on role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous
