Job summary

Gap Group is seeking a proactive Labourer to join our Non-Mechanical Division. You will help keep the depot clean and safe, prepare equipment for hire, and support drivers and customers across construction and utilities sectors.

The role requires hands-on work, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn with real career progression. CSCS, forklift and driving licences are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.

Responsibilities

• Keep workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Clean equipment and store it orderly.
• Quality-check equipment before hire ready.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Carry out driving duties (subject to licence) and assist with loading/unloading.
• Operate forklift when necessary.
• Support the wider team to deliver excellent service.

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary
• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous
