Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property is seeking a reliable General Labourer for an immediate start on a fast-paced residential new build in Mayfield (EH22). You will support the Site Manager and trades, helping to keep the project safe, organised and on schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting with material movement, clearing waste, unloading deliveries and maintaining a clean site while following health and safety procedures. UK-based workers eligible to work are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card is required.
• Experience as a labourer on a construction site, preferably on new-build housing.
• Full PPE: hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel-toe boots.

• Assist sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials.
• Sweep and clear timber frame/brickwork plots and load skips.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised site environment per health and safety procedures.
• Assist site management with unloading and managing deliveries.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a reliable, hard-working General Labourer for an immediate start on a fast-paced residential new build development in the Mayfield area (EH22).

Working alongside the Site Manager and active trade teams, you will play a crucial role in maintaining site standards, assisting trades, and ensuring daily housebuilding operations run safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting various sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials across active plots.
• Sweeping out timber frame / brickwork plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site environment in line with health and safety procedures.
• Assisting site management with unloading and managing incoming deliveries.
• Carrying out general manual labour and physical duties as directed across the development.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Previous experience working as a labourer on a construction site (New build housing experience preferred).
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
• Strong work ethic, excellent punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
• Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and site plant.
• Based in or easily commutable to Mayfield / Dalkeith / South Edinburgh.
