Job summary

The University of Surrey's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering seeks a proactive technical support specialist to assist staff and student research activities in experimental chemical engineering and undergraduate/postgraduate labs.

You will design, maintain and repair equipment, train users on instrumentation, support safe lab practice and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive technical team across the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering or physical science laboratories.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexibly across contexts and duties.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintenance and repair of lab equipment and apparatus.
• Provide training and advice on analytical instrumentation.
• Support undergraduate practical classes and postgraduate projects.
