Job summary

University of Leeds is seeking a Research Support Technician to assist our busy research laboratories. You will analyse samples using HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS or SEC and support academic staff and students in their projects.

The role also involves maintaining equipment, preparing SOPs, risk assessments, and procuring chemicals and consumables. A BSc or BTEC Higher (or equivalent experience) and strong organisational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work weekends for Open Days.

Responsibilities

• Carry out analysis of research samples using wet and instrumental protocols.
• Maintain equipment, service and procurement of consumables.
• Produce SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH forms for projects.
• Support student research projects at all levels and assist with sample collection.
