Job summary

Novogene Europe in Cambridge is seeking a detail‑oriented laboratory professional to register and process samples, perform testing per SOPs, and maintain quality data. You will manage stock, track samples in the LIMS, and support routine lab maintenance while following ISO and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes accurate data handling, strong communication, and teamwork to meet tight deadlines on a production line with high-throughput liquid handling systems.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoints) essential.
• Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) advantageous.
• Experience in PCR, qPCR and NGS-based analysis advantageous.

Responsibilities

• To register and process samples, and upload results data accurately within defined time frames.
• To perform various testing procedures by following SOPs.
• Adhering to documented procedures for laboratory work and maintaining records and quality data.
• To conduct inventory, accessioning and tracking of samples in the lab via LIMS.
• To perform routine laboratory maintenance, including ordering supplies and updating logbooks.
• To work on automated high-throughput liquid handling, overseeing one production line and troubleshooting issues.
• To conform with site quality management systems and health and safety procedures (ISO standards).
• Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job description

• To register and process samples, conduct experiments, and upload results data accurately within defined time frames.
• To perform various testing procedures by strictly following specific standard operation procedures.
• Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
• To conduct inventory, accessioning and tracking of sample into the lab via LIMS system
• To perform routine laboratory maintenance activities, including ordering & receiving supplies, maintaining consumable inventories and updating instrument usage logbooks.
• To work on automated high-throughput liquid handling machine, looking after one production line, troubleshooting and fixing problems when occurred.
• To conform with all site quality management systems and health and safety procedures (ISO 17025:2017, ISO 15189:2023, ISO14001, GCLP, Human Tissue Act (2004)).
• Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:
