Job summary

Talisman Therapeutics Ltd. is seeking a Laboratory Support role at its Babraham Research Campus site in Cambridge. The role involves managing stocks and consumables, supporting autoclaving and reagent prep, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

You will handle deliveries, inventory, and coordination with technical teams to improve efficiency. You will assist with QC assays (e.g. ELISAs) and must have a biology degree, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management.

Qualifications

• Relevant biological/biomedical science degree required.
• Ability to plan and carry out lab procedures independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous adherence to SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Manage stocks and consumables, including autoclaving and reagent preparation.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including waste management procedures.
• Receive and track lab deliveries, including temperature-sensitive goods.
• Organise lab equipment inventory, servicing and maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify needs and efficiency opportunities.
• Run and document in-house QC assays (e.g. ELISAs).

Job description

Key areas of responsibility

• Support for laboratory operations by managing stocks and consumables, including autoclaving and reagent preparation
• Helping to maintain a clean, safe working environment, including support for waste management procedures
• Assisting with receiving and tracking lab deliveries, including temperature-sensitive goods
• Organise lab equipment inventory, servicing and maintenance needs
• Collaborate with different technical teams to identify needs and opportunities for increased efficiency
• Running and documenting standard, in-house QC assays (e.g. ELISAs)

Essential skills and qualifications:

• A relevant biological or biomedical science degree
• Proven ability to plan and carry out laboratory procedures independently, with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• Experienced at following protocols and SOPs carefully
• Well-organised, with excellent time management skills

Desirable skills and qualifications:

• Excellent sterile mammalian cell culture technique
• Demonstrated molecular biology skills
• Basic knowledge of chemical handling
