Job summary

Specsavers Wetherby is seeking a dedicated Optical Lab Technician to prepare prescriptions, repair spectacles, and glaze/tint lenses using modern equipment. You’ll be part of a friendly store team, with training and development opportunities, in a role that offers a supportive environment and great benefits.

The position is part-time (32 hours over 4 days, one weekend day usually Saturday) with a starting rate of £12.91 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Optical lab experience is beneficial but not essential.
• IT confidence is required.
• Demonstrates teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer prescriptions to high standards using computer‑controlled equipment.
• Repair spectacles and adjust frames as needed.
• Glaze and tint lenses to specifications.
• Learn and develop with expert colleagues in a fast-paced store environment.

Job description

As a Laboratory Technician in our store, you'll be preparing customer prescriptions to the highest standards and using the latest computer-controlled equipment. One day you could be repairing spectacles, the next, you could be glazing and tinting lenses. The important thing is that you'll be learning all the time - building on your knowledge with the help of your expert colleagues.

• Previous experience working within an optical lab would be beneifical but not essential
