Job summary

Specsavers Keynsham is seeking a proactive Lab Technician with optical lab experience to ensure eyewear is produced to the highest standards. You will read prescriptions, operate blocking and glazing machines, assemble lenses into frames, tint lenses, and perform quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Read lens and frame prescriptions.
• Operate blocking/glazing equipment to shape lenses.
• Assemble lenses into frames and tint as required.
• Order frames and lenses and perform quality checks.
• Maintain good housekeeping and machine maintenance.

So, you’re a proactive, detail-oriented individual with Optical Lab experience and a passion for delivering high-quality customer outcomes? Sounds like you’d be a great fit here. As a skilled Lab Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring every pair of glasses is produced to the highest standards.

As a Lab Technician, you will use the latest computer-controlled equipment with accuracy and attention to detail, helping to maintain exceptional quality standards and maximise customer satisfaction.

Drawing on your previous Optical Lab experience, you will be part of a team responsible for preparing customers' spectacle orders, carrying out quality checks, and ensuring all eyewear is produced efficiently and to the highest standard.

The role:

• Reading lens and frame specifications from prescriptions
• Using blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape and fit
• Assembling lenses into frames
• Tinting of lenses to provide UV protection and a variety of colours

• Quality checking of completed glasses
• Good housekeeping and machine maintenance
