Job summary

Specsavers in Wetherby is seeking a dedicated Optical Lab Technician to support our store with prescription preparation and lens processing. You will work with the latest computer-controlled equipment, handling tasks from repairing spectacles to glazing and tinting lenses while learning from experienced colleagues.

The role is part-time (32 hours over 4 days, with one weekend day) and offers strong training, development, and employee benefits including discounts and support services.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within an optical lab would be beneficial but not essential.
• IT confident.
• A real team player.
• Confident working in a fast paced enviornment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer prescriptions to the highest standards using the latest computer-controlled equipment.
• Repair spectacles, glazing and tinting lenses as needed.
• Learn continuously by collaborating with expert colleagues.

What’s on offer?

• Part Time - 32 hours over 4 days will include working one weekend day (usually a Saturday)
• Salary £12.91 per hour depending on experience

What you will do?

As a Laboratory Technician in our store, you’ll be preparing customer prescriptions to the highest standards and using the latest computer-controlled equipment. One day you could be repairing spectacles, the next, you could be glazing and tinting lenses. The important thing is that you’ll be learning all the time – building on your knowledge with the help of your expert colleagues.
