Square One Resources is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - Lab Operations for Slough/Winnersh. The role is onsite 5 days a week initially, reducing to 2/3 days as operations mature, with a daily rate of £500 inside IR35.

The contract runs for 6 months starting 09/11/2026, with exposure to lab infrastructure and telecoms environments. Responsibilities include admin of systems, incident coordination, and driving data quality, while contributing to future automation initiatives.

• NetBox (or Comparable Experience)This is the most important area of the role. Candidate does not need extensive NetBox experience, but any exposure is highly desirable.

Strong experience managing and administering technical platforms.

• Complex lab environments
• Data centres
• Telecoms environments
• Technical operations teams
• Infrastructure support functions

Ability to:

• Manage incidents
• Coordinate changes
• Administer environments
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Support operational workflows

Nice-to-Have Skills

Automation Exposure

• Python
• PowerShell
• Bash
• Automation mindset

They will not be building large automation frameworks immediately, but candidates should be comfortable operating in an environment heading in that direction.

Telecoms Experience

Beneficial but not essential.
