Job summary

Abcam in Cambridge, UK, seeks a Facilities Engineer to ensure reliable operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of building systems, supporting regulated lab environments and compliance with EHS standards. This on-site role reports to the Facilities Manager within the Workplace Team.

You will perform preventative maintenance on electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, maintain records, and respond to faults to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus technical qualification.
• Minimum 8-10+ years in facilities/lab settings.
• Foundational knowledge of Building Code and EHS policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) and ensure safety.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and keep KPI/SLAs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and up-to-date system records.
