Job summary

Abcam, part of Danaher, seeks an EHS Specialist to lead day-to-day Environment, Health & Safety performance at our Cambridge site. You will own EHS management systems, ensuring policies are implemented, audited, and improved, reporting to the EHS Manager on site.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Certificate or equivalent required.
• Hands-on experience in a laboratory-based environment.
• Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• Ability to work independently while leading EHS initiatives.
• Clear communication across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance site EHS Management Systems with policy adherence and continuous improvement.
• Lead internal EHS audit programs and track corrective actions.
• Independently drive EHS initiatives aligning with Danaher governance and standards.
• Identify training needs and develop effective training for site risk profiles.
• Coach site teams to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement proportionate controls.
