Job summary

Abcam, part of Danaher, is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead day-to-day Environment, Health & Safety performance at the Cambridge site, reporting to the EHS Manager within Operations. The role is on-site in Cambridge, UK.

You will independently manage EHS programs, plan audits, lead governance-aligned initiatives, identify training needs, and coach teams to strengthen safety culture and risk controls across lab and operations.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in a lab-based organization.
• Strong MS Excel and Office skills are required.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple EHS initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and enhance site EHS management systems and ensure compliance.
• Plan, lead and execute internal EHS audit programs and close CAPAs.
• Lead and own EHS initiatives aligned with regulatory standards and governance.
• Identify training needs, develop content and deliver effective training for site staff.
• Coach site teams to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and implement proportionate controls.
