Job summary

Abcam in Cambridge is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to oversee reliable operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities equipment in regulated lab environments. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Facilities Manager within the Workplace Team.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of facilities/lab experience.
• Foundational MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems across assigned properties.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Maintain system records and track KPIs/SLAs; ensure compliance with EHS and site-specific standards.
