Job summary

Abcam in Cambridge, UK is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead day‑to‑day environmental, health and safety performance on site. You will own the EHS programs, drive audits, and implement improvements in line with company governance.

The role requires training development and delivery, risk assessment, and coaching site teams to enhance safety culture. The successful candidate will help ensure regulatory compliance across manufacturing and R&D environments, with a focus on proactive risk reduction

Qualifications

• EHS Management Systems knowledge and implementation experience.
• Experience planning leading internal EHS audit programs.
• Ability to identify hazards and assess risk for site operations.
• Experience delivering effective EHS training to site staff.
• Proactive in driving corrective and preventive actions and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own day-to-day Environment, Health & Safety performance at the Cambridge site.
• Plan, conduct and verify internal EHS audits and closure of actions.
• Develop EHS initiatives aligned with Danaher governance and standards.
• Identify training needs, develop content, and deliver training for lab and operations.
• Coach teams to strengthen ownership of safety and risk controls.
