Job summary

Uplift360 in Bristol is seeking a Digitalisation Intern for 3–5 months to help modernise our laboratory processes and data handling.

You will map workflows, build digital tools, and apply AI to automate tasks, collaborating with scientists and engineers.

This hands-on role offers insight into R&D, data infrastructure, and secure industrial data practices within an advanced materials environment.

Qualifications

• Entry-level degree in engineering, maths, CS or digital discipline.
• Good understanding of coding and software development.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their practical applications.
• Strong grasp of digital infrastructure and data management.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Mapping current lab workflows and digitising paper-based processes.
• Designing and building digital tools for data capture, storage and access.
• Applying AI and automation to streamline tasks and improve data quality.
• Supporting integration of digital infrastructure to connect lab systems.
• Documenting solutions for maintenance and scaling.
• Collaborating with scientists and engineers to translate requirements.
• Testing, refining, and rolling out tools with clear timelines.
• Preparing short reports and demonstrations for internal teams.
