Job summary

Uplift360 is looking for a Digitalisation Intern to modernise laboratory and materials processes, focusing on data capture, storage and automation. The role blends science, software development and digital infrastructure to improve workflow efficiency in R&D.

Over a 3–5 month placement, you will work with research and technical teams to identify manual workflows, build practical tools, and embed new digital solutions across the lab environment.

Qualifications

• Entry‑level degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
• Good coding and software development understanding.
• Familiarity with AI tools and practical applications.
• Understanding of digital infrastructure and data management.
• Ability to work effectively in a small multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Digitise laboratory workflows and identify opportunities to reduce paper use.
• Design and build digital tools for data capture, storage and accessibility.
• Apply AI and automation to streamline repetitive tasks and data quality.
• Support integration of digital infrastructure across lab systems and data sources.
• Document solutions clearly for maintenance and scaling by the team.
