Job summary

First Group in London is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to lead the design and delivery of learning solutions for non-driver roles and support driver training where needed. You will develop strategies, analyse training needs and partner with managers to raise capability across the business.

You will build strong relationships with leaders and union representatives, manage the LMS, and drive a culture of continuous learning through engaging programmes and practical

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Learning & Development role with training needs analysis and programme design.
• Experience designing and delivering supervisory and management development programmes.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, stakeholder management and project management skills.
• Solid understanding of learning principles and organisational development.
• Confident working with operational teams in technical/manufacturing environments.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement learning and development strategies that support goals and capability.
• Conduct training needs analysis and work with managers to identify development requirements.
• Design, deliver and evaluate engaging learning solutions for supervisors and managers.
• Coordinate a structured learning programme across the business.
• Create and maintain training materials, resources and development tools.
• Facilitate workshops, coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.
• Manage and optimise the LMS and digital learning content, records and reporting.
• Monitor effectiveness of training interventions and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with external training providers for quality delivery.
• Support succession planning, talent development and career pathways.
• Build partnerships with stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous learning.
