Job summary

First Group is seeking a strategic Learning & Development leader to drive organisational capability and deliver development solutions that support business growth. You will shape the learning strategy, identify capability gaps, and lead leadership and talent programmes across multiple sites.

The role requires senior L&D experience, strong stakeholder management, and experience with LMS and digital learning platforms. A CIPD Level 7 qualification is desirable, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development or Organisational Development.
• Experience developing and implementing L&D strategies aligned to objectives.
• Strong leadership and management development experience.
• Experience leading learning, training or people development teams.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the organisation's learning and development strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Identify capability gaps and translate into learning initiatives.
• Lead leadership, management, talent and career development programmes.
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
• Oversee LMS and learning technologies to enhance impact.
• Manage L&D budget, resources and supplier relationships.
• Use data and evaluation to measure impact and drive improvement.
• Build relationships with senior leaders to align priorities with goals.
