Job summary

GXO is seeking an L&D Manager for our Milton Keynes site. You will lead the learning agenda, ensuring colleagues have the skills and confidence to perform safely and effectively in a 24/7 logistics environment.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll shape learning strategy and deliver on career development and compliance. This full-time, permanent role positions you to drive capability across the operation with a focus on performance, engagement and growth at our flagship distribution site in

  • Proven experience in learning and development, including designing, delivering and evaluating training.
  • Strong understanding of workplace learning principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to use training data to drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the site Learning & Development strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead onboarding, inductions and mandatory training ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and identify development opportunities.
  • Design and deliver leadership development and succession planning.
  • Manage training records, measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

We are looking for an L&D Manager to join our M&S site in Milton Keynes. You will lead the learning agenda at our flagship M&S distribution site in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in building capability across the operation, ensuring colleagues have the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform safely, compliantly and at their very best. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape learning strategy, champion career development, drive compliance excellence, and create clear development pathways in a dynamic 24/7 logistics environment.

This is a full-time, permanent role, predominately Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00, with some flexibility required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000.00 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
  • Develop and deliver the site Learning & Development strategy, aligning training initiatives with business objectives and future capability need
  • Lead all onboarding, inductions and mandatory training programmes, ensuring legal and compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Conduct training needs analyses and skills gap assessments to identify development opportunities across operational and support functions
  • Design and deliver engaging learning, leadership development and succession planning programmes to support talent growth across the site
  • Manage training records, evaluate training effectiveness through KPIs and reporting, and drive a culture of continuous improvement and learning
What You Need To Succeed At GXO
  • Proven experience within a Learning & Development role, including training design, delivery and evaluation
  • Strong understanding of workplace learning principles, learning styles and training methodologies
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with the ability to adapt priorities and respond to changing business needs
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge and coach at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to use training data and insights to drive performance improvements
