Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an experienced and compassionate KS4 SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in South London for an immediate start.

This full-time, long-term role supports KS4 pupils who are non-verbal and have complex learning, communication and sensory needs, delivering meaningful, tailored lessons.

You'll collaborate with Teaching Assistants and professionals to create a calm, structured learning environment and help pupils achieve communication, independence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs.
• Experience supporting non-verbal learners and using alternative communication methods.
• Understanding of sensory regulation and individualised learning approaches.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly differentiated and engaging learning.
• Support non-verbal pupils with complex SEND and sensory needs.
• Use communication strategies, including visual and alternative methods.
• Create a calm, structured and sensory-aware learning environment.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.
• Support pupils' communication, independence and life skills.
• Adapt learning around EHCP targets and personal outcomes.
• Celebrate progress in academic, social, emotional and developmental areas.
