Protocol Education are recruiting for a KS3 Classroom Teacher to work within a PRU in Ferryhill. The role requires energy, patience and resilience to support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning.

Qualifications

KS3 Teacher – Alternative Provision

Location: Ferryhill
Start: September 2026
Type: Full Time
Pay: £140–£250 per day

Not every pupil learns in the same way. Great teachers know how to adapt.

Protocol Education are recruiting for a KS3 Classroom Teacher to work within a PRU in Ferryhill.

We're looking for someone who can bring energy, patience and resilience into the classroom and who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging lessons while adapting your approach to ensure pupils remain supported, challenged and motivated.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering high-quality KS3 lessons.
  • Differentiating work to meet individual abilities.
  • Adapting teaching methods when pupils require a different approach.
  • Developing positive relationships with pupils.
  • Managing behaviour using a calm and consistent approach.
  • Encouraging engagement and participation.
  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Working alongside the wider school team.
You’ll need:
  • QTS.
  • KS3 teaching experience.
  • Strong lesson planning and delivery skills.
  • The ability to adapt your teaching style.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Resilience when faced with challenging situations.
  • A patient, positive and consistent approach.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people.

Experience in PRU, SEMH, SEND or alternative provision would be advantageous.
