Job summary

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a KS3 Classroom Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Ferryhill, supporting young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.

This role requires QTS and KS3 experience, with the ability to plan differentiated lessons and manage behaviour effectively. Competitive pay is £140-£250 per day, dependent on experience, and the position offers ongoing opportunities within a PRU setting.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS.
• Has experience teaching at KS3 level.
• Able to plan and deliver effective, differentiated lessons.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Experience in a PRU, SEMH or alternative provision is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Create a calm, structured, supportive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional needs and barriers to learning.
• Work with colleagues to support individual pupils and their educational development.
• Demonstrate resilience and consistency when handling challenging behaviour.
